I recently returned from a few weeks on the road covering the University of Michigan basketball team (more on that in an upcoming post!) during their run to the Final Four. I had the opportunity to spend some time in Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas and Atlanta, Georgia. While this type of traveling doesn't offer up much sightseeing time, I did find an hour or two to check the famed Georgia Aquarium!
I felt like an underwater adventurer as the rays of sunlight shined from overhead. And lets be honest, this is the closest I'll ever get to any kind of deep sea diving. :)
The aquarium is home to four whalesharks, (which are the largest species of fish!) who have the most beautiful spotted skin.
These pacific sea nettles were my favorite. I was totally mesmerized by their lacy texture and how they floated down from above. Their color is just incredible.
I was tempted to crawl into one of these viewing bubbles but didn't end up waiting in line. I love the little hand that is reaching up to touch their father's chin from below.
Completely charming beluga whale!
