SENIORS: Madeline

Madeline is a local senior with a sweet disposition and some incredible loving parents. Her parents tagged along on our recent session at the University of Michigan Matthaei Botanical Gardens and were at the ready with a hair fix up, a bottle of water (even one for me!) and some of the best parent/assistant reflector holding I've had! Madeline is on her high school diving team and her schedule is packed with practices and competitions, so we motored through a humid evening (and a bee sting!) and made some great photos to mark her senior year.

We scored some left over wedding seating in the gardens. Gotta take advantage of what you have for a shoot!

Not only did we utilize the seating, we also came across a few bottles of bubbles! Who doesn't love bubbles??

Pretty sure these are my favorite, I love the wind in Madeline's hair.

Cue high school nostalgia for my varsity jacket.

Seniors: Nivetha

Nivetha and her family hail from a town in southern India. She and her mother wanted to start her portrait session in a dress, bought specifically for her senior year and meant to celebrate her roots. The detailed bead work was amazing and thankfully Nivetha's mom Alli, was on hand to make sure the garment was positioned just right for the photos. We spent an evening shooting at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens where the night before we photographed one of her great friends Hannah.

Nivetha is nothing if not prepared. She had all her outfits down with matching accessories and hair styles for each. When it comes down to it, I don't think any of those things mattered, this gal is just plain beautiful!

Seniors: Hannah

I know I've mentioned it before, but I love meeting and photographing seniors. It's a window (if not a reminder) into that short period in life when what's important is picking out a dress for Homecoming, perfecting essays for college applications and just being a teen. Hannah's in that moment in life, looking toward her future but living in the moment, too. We met up at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens on a recent evening and took a few photos to freeze her high school self in time!
